Miller|Conway is Pleased to Welcome Jacqueline K. Dixon, Esquire to the Firm

Miller|Conway is pleased to announce that Jaqueline K. Dixon has joined the firm as of April 2011.  Jacki Dixon was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, attending Ashley Hall School. Ms. Dixon remained rooted in Charleston and graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston and went on to graduate from the Charleston School of Law. While in college Ms. Dixon was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha. In addition, Ms. Dixon is a founding member of the Charleston School of Law’s Environmental Law Society.

Prior to joining Miller|Conway, Ms. Dixon was an assistant solicitor with the Berkeley County Solicitor’s Office located in Monks Corner, South Carolina. During her tenure as assistant solicitor Ms. Dixon acquired an in-depth command of South Carolina’s complex criminal statutes, processes and procedures as she was responsible for up to 700 open warrants. In addition, Ms. Dixon gained invaluable experience and the knowledge required of a criminal defense attorney while prosecuting numerous felony trials and negotiating countless plea bargains.

Prior to joining the Berkeley County Solicitor’s Office, Ms. Dixon was a law clerk to the Honorable Carmen T. Mullen of the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit. During her time as a clerk Ms. Dixon was an invaluable asset to the chief administrative judge as she prepared jury charges, drafted orders and handled all pro se litigant inquiries. Additionally, Ms. Dixon clerked with the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office while in law school.

Ms. Dixon’s experience as assistant solicitor allows for a unique perspective in criminal matters as she has spent her career prosecuting such cases. Now that she represents clients accused of crimes Ms. Dixon is able to use the knowledge and experience she gained as a prosecutor both in the courtroom and behind the scenes to effectively and efficiently represent criminal clients. In addition to her criminal practice, Ms. Dixon actively, aggressively and compassionately represents clients in a broad range of domestic and family law matters.
